Implant Bridges and Dentures

Implant Bridges

If you have multiple missing teeth in a row, implant bridges may be the perfect solution. Instead of needing an implant for every missing tooth, your dentist can use a bridge. This is a section of fake teeth that is attached to your jaw like a regular implant, but it requires less surgery.

Think of it like a curtain rod. When you hang a curtain rod, you generally need to screw in two brackets – one on either side of the window. This supports the curtain rod. Implant bridges are similar because the implants go on the ends, like the brackets, and the bridge goes on top, like the curtain rod.

However, implant bridges are much more secure than curtain rods! They are a permanent solution to multiple missing teeth, which means they won’t fall out or get dislodged from talking or eating.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures are used when someone is missing most or all of their natural teeth. But they are securely held in place using multiple implants.

With implant-supported dentures, you are covering a larger portion of your jaw. This option requires more implants than a dental bridge but still fewer implants than if you were to replace each missing tooth separately.

This is a great solution for someone who wants a more permanent fix than regular dentures.
